Inferno races 2021 cancelled due to Covid-19
07-12-2020
What was becoming apparent in the past few weeks is unfortunately now a certainty. The necessary restrictions due to Covid-19 means that the Inferno ski races cannot be held from January 20-23, 2021.
We have examined a possible postponement of the races to the end of March / beginning of April 2021. Unfortunately, it cannot be assumed that the situation will have improved so that events of our size will be possible again. In addition, there is the problem that sections of the Inferno descent can be endangered by the wet snow avalanches that we have in spring. It is also questionable whether cross-country skiing would be at all possible due to the snow conditions. These are the reasons that have led us to decide against postponing the races but unfortunately means the Inferno Races 2021 have been cancelled.
As announced earlier, the entry fees already paid will be refunded. The team leaders are asked to provide the race office with the bank details for repayment. It is not possible to leave the entry fee for the 2022 event. Start places drawn for 2021 will not be transferred to 2022.
The 78th Int. Inferno ski races will take place from January 19-22 in 2022. Online registration will be open from June 2021. We're already looking forward to seeing you again.

Bruno Durrer’s tragic death 05.12.2016
We are heartbroken and our thoughts are with the family.
The Inferno ski races have lost a good friend and our doctor, he always looked after our injured competitors in a professional, calm and efficient manner. His presence gave us a feeling of confidence and security.
Bruno, you will be greatly missed by us all!
