Press release Inferno 2012
Night-Cross Country
18 January 2012
The great atmosphere in a wintery snow covered Murren is as much a part of the first Inferno race as the large number of spectators on the Wednesday night for the traditional Inferno Cross Country. The 379 classified participants enjoyed a well-groomed cross-country ski trail through the village. The camel hump at the bakery, the Palace climb and the downhill behind the Hotel Jungfrau provided the biggest challenges.
The local, Oliver Zurbrügg (Lauterbrunnen) quickly mastered the course for the men in 11.02.77, Adrian Kindler (Worb) came second in 11.26.23 and Christian Fuhrer (Wilderswil) third with 11.30.26.
In the women’s category Judith Graf (Matten b. Interlaken) took first in 13.20.05, Annina Strupler (Grindelwald) the second best 13.56,23 and Melanie Steuri (Grindelwald) 15.57,73 with the third best time.
